One is a very high RPM fan (5000 RPM) and the other is a 2000 RPM fan and my processor temperatures are between 45C and 60C for normal computer use like browsing and watching ...5800X was thermally the worst Zen 3 CPU. 5800X3D has even worse thermals. Expect straight to 90C for most all-core workloads. There is no comparing to other Ryzen 5000 CPUs (Ryzen 7000 maybe). Water isn't guaranteed to help, especially without a newer block made with these CPUs in mind (Optimus, TechN, Velocity2).

Sep 20, 2020 · Ryzen is closer to 20-25°C above ambient normally, with 20-25°C spikes. On average, at stock settings and stock cooler. But whatever you heard about Ryzens running hot because of bios settings not properly set up, is garbage. The settings are entirely correct for a guaranteed stable cpu for any plain jane pc. The Ryzen 7 5700G ran at 58c max, just 2 degrees warmer than the 3700X at 56c, which is a good temperature. The 5800X at its high power usage was up near 80c at maximum, a good 37% hotter. The 5700G is a power-efficient, and cool-running CPU.
